Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff have filed for divorce.
Qualley was listed as the plaintiff, however, they jointly filed for divorce on Friday, according to New York Supreme Court records obtained exclusively by Page Six. They have also filed a settlement agreement, which is still being processed by the court.
“This divorce filing was inevitable,” a source exclusively told Page Six. “Like most couples, it took Margaret and Jack some time to iron out a few things and just adjust to this chapter before taking that next step to make things official and file the paperwork.”
“They still have immense respect for one another but knew this was coming.”
The couple, who tied the knot in August 2023, sparked breakup speculation after the Bleachers frontman attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s nuptials solo.
Antonoff, 42, reportedly told fellow wedding guests he and his partner, 32, were in a “tiff” since he “didn’t want to put up a facade … when [he and Qualley were] having trouble.”
On July 8, Page Six confirmed the singer and Qualley had separated after nearly three years married.
A source exclusively told us the couple did not call it quits for any “dramatic reason,” dispelling social media “rumors” about infidelity.
“They’re figuring this all out together,” the insider added. “For what it’s worth, they’ve had a beautiful and loving relationship. Sometimes, these things just don’t work.”
Additionally, we heard “communication was definitely a challenge” for the pair.
“Jack could be very particular about how he liked things,” a source shared with us. “He’d often prefer for things to be done the way he thought was best, and Margaret didn’t always feel like her perspective was being heard or given the same weight.”
Us Weekly subsequently reported that the actress was the one to initiate the breakup, calling “their busy schedules and distance” factors in the decision.
“They were still trying to work on the marriage a few months ago, but it ultimately wasn’t working,” the outlet claimed. “At some point, the rose-colored glasses came off for Margaret, and she felt she needed to take a step back.”
Just this week, Antonoff shared that performing songs about Qualley is still a “really beautiful” experience despite their split.
Qualley and Antonoff started dating in the summer of 2021 after meeting at a party.
“I saw her and it was like a f–king Hallmark movie that doesn’t seem believable,” the latter explained on “The Howard Stern Show” in April. “When I met her, I started imagining things that I’d never even imagined, like marriage.”
News broke in May 2022 that the Grammy-winning music producer had popped the question.
He did so in Paris, telling Howard Stern, “I came back [from calling her sister, Rainey Qualley], and I could tell that I looked crazy because she looked at me like something was wrong, and I think it’s because I had begun to sweat.”
Qualley and Antonoff walked down the aisle in New Jersey in August of the following year.
The “Maid” alum dubbed Antonoff her “person” in a Harper’s Bazaar interview just ahead of the ceremony.
“It’s real. It’s amazing,” she gushed of their love. “It’s the best feeling in the world. I’m so excited and so at ease all at once.”
