Understated elegance abounds on the Riviera, starting with the dramatic marble lobby and Lalique Grand Staircase. Bathrooms are decked out with Bulgari products and a full-sized tub, which is a rarity on most space-conscious cruise ships. The ultimate accommodations are the three palatial Owner’s Suites, which feel more like luxury condos than cruise cabins. Each measures over 2,000 square feet and boasts a separate living room, grand foyer, king-size bed, two walk-in closets, and indoor/outdoor whirlpool spas. Plus, guests in these top-tier suites receive priority advantage for things like restaurant and port excursion reservations and exclusive access to the ship’s private Executive Lounge.

The experience doesn’t end there though—guests are invited to accompany the instructors on Culinary Discovery Tours of local markets, top-rated restaurants and other fascinating food excursions at select ports. For those interested in creative expression outside the kitchen, the Artist Loft caters to budding talent with a schedule of painting, drawing and and art courses.

Guests looking for authentic Italian food can find it at Toscana, where traditional Tuscan dishes are served on custom Versace china. Red Ginger offers a unique Asian fusion menu, while Polo Grill is your quintessential steakhouse, decorated with dark wood and supple leather seating. For a more formal dining experience, the Grand Dining Room is your best bet—the menu changes daily and the wait staff is gracious and elegantly uniformed. The most exclusive of Riviera’s restaurants is Privée, which hosts private dinner parties for up to ten people at this intimate, exquisitely appointed venue. The food is top-notch across the ship though—standards don’t slip at the more casual, outdoor eateries like the poolside Waves Grill and outdoor Terrace Café.

The Queen Mary 2 is freshly remastered as of the end of June 2016. A modern incarnation of golden-age cruise ships, this luxury liner is in a class all its own. Cunard maintains the highest standards in what they call White Star Service, so you can expect to be treated like royalty. A standout feature of the QM2 is its full-scale planetarium, the only one of its kind on any cruise ship. The Grand Lobby boasts a chic array of boutiques should you find yourself in need of some fine jewelry or designer clothing. For the ultimate in relaxation and pampering, head to the Canyon Ranch SpaClub, or take a dip in one of the five pools onboard the ship.

    Cunard

The experience you have aboard the QM2 is dependent on the room you book. Your room location determines where you dine: Queens Grill, Princess Grill, Britannia Club, and Britannia Restaurant. Queens Grill is the best by far. By booking one of these luxurious suites, privileged guests enjoy perks like a personal butler, complimentary fully-stocked bar, Afternoon Tea in the exclusive Grills Lounge, a private balcony plus chocolates and Champagne upon arrival.

    Queen Mary 2: The Activities

Interior design, Ceiling, Hall, Furniture, Function hall, Interior design, Light fixture, Decoration, Lobby, Couch,
    Cunard

The QM2 regularly makes transatlantic voyages, so its entertainment and activities roster is packed with first-rate options. Through the Cunard Insights Programme, guests have the opportunity to attend lectures with notable speakers, including actors, politicians and other industry leaders. Brush up on your thespian skills during the 45-minute RADA Acting Workshops led by trained actors from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, or learn some new ballroom steps from the pros at the daily-held dance lessons in the Queens Room (where many a fancy ball is held). There’s also a book club, a gallery showcasing pieces of the ship’s history and heritage, and a slew of live music venues onboard. Hit up the Golden Lion Pub for a relaxed hangout that offers bar games, darts, live sports, and karaoke.

In addition to the main eateries associated with each passenger class, there is the Verandah restaurant, which serves contemporary French cuisine inspired by the original Verandah Grill menu offered on the Queen Mary. For an especially glamorous experience, sip champagne out of crystal flutes during Champagne Afternoon Tea at the Veuve Clicquot Champagne Bar. Traditional English tea service takes place in the Queens Room ballroom. For drinks, there is the Commodore Club overlooking the ship’s bow, which offers a wide variety of martinis. The Golden Lion Pub exudes a laid-back, casual atmosphere, complete with authentic English pub food and ale. Oh, and a Godiva Chocolate Café was added at Sir Samuel’s in the recent renovations, so do with that information what you will.

Mountainous landforms, Landmark, Mountain, Hill, Mountain range, Bedrock, Cumulus, Hill station, Bird's-eye view, Tourist attraction,
    Cunard

While this ship doesn’t typically make Mediterranean journeys, there will be an opportunity to experience the Queen Mary 2 along this route in the spring of 2018. For 21 nights during April and May, the QM2 will cruise from Dubai through the Suez Canal and into the Mediterranean Sea, stopping at such cities as Naples, Rome, Barcelona and Seville before continuing up to Southampton in the UK.

Fares: Prices for this 21-night voyage start at $3,699 per guest for an Inside Stateroom.

The staff on Crystal Serenity is incredibly dedicated and attentive when it comes to catering to and anticipating passengers’ needs. It’s this level of service that has helped earn this cruise liner countless accolades over the years. The crowd is stylish and the atmosphere is high class. Accordingly, the shopping selection is meant to suit the refined taste of its guests.
