Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s recent wedding was one for the history books. Details are slowly coming out about the wedding itself, but based on the legendary location (Madison Square Garden aka the most famous arena in the world) and guest list alone (which allegedly included around 1,000 people), I think it’s safe to say, nothing else will top this wedding for another year — and possibly ever again.

But, there have been so many memorable celebrity weddings over the years that deserve an honourable mention. From secret weddings that we’re still talking about to the weddings that broke records for how many people tuned in to watch, here are the most iconic celebrity weddings in modern history:

1. Just two years after their meet-cute in LA, Dua Lipa and Callum Turner tied the knot this spring. The two stars exchanged vows in an intimate London ceremony before flying to Italy for a extravagant weekend-long celebration.

The couple got married at the Villa Valguarnera in Silicy with 300 guests present including A-listers like Elton John, Joe Alwyn, Troye Sivan, Charli XCX, Mark Ronson, and Grace Gummer.

2. When Celine Dion married her record manager and longtime partner, René Angélil, in 1994, it instantly became the most-watched celebrity wedding in Canadian history.

The French-Canadian couple were married at the historic Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, shutting down the streets of Old Montreal. The wedding was such a big deal that cameras were camped outside the church to broadcast on the highly-anticipated event on national television.

3. From their rehearsal dinner at the Palace of Versailles in France, to their star-studded 200-guest wedding in Florence Italy, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s lavish 2014 wedding truly spared no expense.

Everything from Kim’s custom gown by Givenchy and the 7-foot wedding cake to the massive wall of roses and peonies, the couple’s extravagant wedding set a new standard for celeb weddings.

4. Tom Holland and Zendaya’s wedding became the most highly-anticipated celeb wedding after Zendaya was spotted on the Golden Globes red carpet wearing an engagement ring in early 2025.

After months of speculation and the release of AI-generated photos, Tom Holland finally confirmed that he and his new wife, Zendaya, tied the knot in a private ceremony at some point over the last year. He didn’t share any other details about the big day except to say that their closest friends and family were present.

5. In 2025, Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez took over Venice, Italy for their three-day wedding event.

The wedding easily became one of the most publicized events of the year due to its star-studded guest list, which included A-listers like Oprah Winfrey and the Kardashians, billionaires like Elon Musk and Bill Gates, members of the Jordan royal family.

6. David and Victoria Beckham made headlines when they got married at a Irish castle in 1999. While Victoria wore a custom champagne-coloured Vera Wang wedding gown for the ceremony, the couple decided to wear matching purple outfits to their reception.

For their 25th wedding anniversary, the couple slipped into their iconic reception looks and shared the photos on social media saying, “Yep, still got it! 🤣 Can’t believe it’s been 25 years and they still fit!”

12. And since we’re talking about royals, I should mention Prince William and Princess Kate’s royal wedding, which broke records when they walked down the aisle in 2011. With an estimated 72 million views, their wedding became the most live streamed single event on YouTube.

The couple continued to break records long after they tied the knot when Princess Kate’s wedding dress (a lacy V-Neck gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen) drew a massive audience to Buckingham Palace when it was displayed.

13. And of course, Prince Harry and Megan Markle’s wedding became the biggest event of the year when they walked down the aisle in 2018.

14. In 2006, Canadian actress Pamela Anderson married Kid Rock in a spontaneous wedding on a friend’s yacht in St. Tropez, years after ending their engagement in 2003.

Instead of a wedding gown, Pamela opted for a bridal white bikini and captain’s hat. Kid Rock matched her casual fit with a pair of jeans and a fedora. Just a week after the impromptu ceremony, the pair went to a courthouse in Beverly Hills to make it legal.

22. Olivia Wilde’s spontaneous wedding to Italian prince and filmmaker Tao Ruspoli sounds like something out of a romance novel. The actress was just 19-years old at the time when she eloped at the Burning Man festival.
