Sources have confirmed that Mark Seed is Taylor Swift’s wedding planner—and we can understand why. Along the way, planners often become favorites within certain circles.
And the go-to planner within Swift’s friend group? Mark Seed. The Los Angeles-based planner has been the creative mind behind the celebrations of Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Stone, and Jack Antonoff. It’s important to note that all these weddings were also shielded from the public eye. Seed is notoriously private, with a very minimal website, no published portfolio, and no social media presence. This is a major draw for stars who want to eliminate the media circus that can infiltrate a celebrity wedding.
It required speaking to many of our wedding industry friends to find those who knew him personally. One planner shares that Seed comes from a wealthy background and decided to plan parties for all of his friends. This led him to the circles where he became a go-to for the celeb set. According to the planner, Seed is “super nice,” has a “good team,” and is “good at his job.”
In 2022, Vogue bride Samantha Ressler tapped Seed to plan her chic Los Angeles wedding in her parents’ backyard in just 12 weeks. “My sister got married there in September of 2020, and we both worked with event planner Mark Seed,” Ressler said at the time. “He made everything so easy, fun, and seamless. He’s basically a genius and has the chillest energy.”
“He’s also incapable of panic,” Ressler continued. “He can right-size any problem and can put things in perspective. He really gets that this should just be a celebration of love and a fun experience to plan. Mark is so creative, and it was genuinely so much fun coming up with ideas together, and his execution of my vision was beyond my wildest expectations.”
Seed was also the planner behind actress Billie Lourd and producer Austen Rydell’s wedding in Cabo San Lucas, which was also featured in Vogue. The 2022 wedding featured a unique textural lighting structure on the sand that served as the backdrop for the couple’s vows.
