Dating back to the 1980s, the original building was redesigned by Kulapat Yantrasast of Why Architecture in collaboration with Thailand-based international architectural design firm Architects 49 (A49).
The exhibition space follows a minimal design concept inspired by the Buddhist idea of enlightenment. A central courtyard, an outdoor sculpture garden and a penthouse space are also part of the building.
The brainchild of the late Petch Osathanugrah – a businessman, musician and art collector – Dib Bangkok was brought to life by his son Purat (Chang) Osathanugrah.
The museum’s inaugural exhibition, “(I)nvisible Presence”, brings together works by 40 leading artists including Montien Boonma, Lee Bul, Anselm Kiefer and Alicja Kwade. “(I)nvisible Presence” is on display until August 3
