[Sportschosun Lee Ji-hyun] The marriage rumors surrounding Hollywood power couple Tom Holland and Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman are drawing attention again. This time, the buzz came not from a source close to them or speculative reporting, but from Tom Holland’s own words.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Holland recently addressed the AI-generated wedding photos that set the internet abuzz in an interview with fashion magazine Esquire.
He laughed as he recalled an anecdote, saying, “My grandmother saw the photo and thought there had been a real wedding and that she was the only one not invited.” When asked whether his family had made the same mistake, he paused briefly before replying, “No, because they were all there.”
After that remark, he avoided further explanation and changed the subject. Still, overseas media outlets have interpreted it as a de facto confirmation of marriage, since neither of them has offered a clear position whenever engagement or wedding rumors have surfaced.
Holland also made no secret of his affection for Zendaya in the interview. He called her “my best friend” and said, “I am happiest when I am with her, and she gives me support and stability I had never felt before.”
The two first met while working together as Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson (MJ) in the 2017 film Spider-Man: Homecoming. Dating rumors never stopped from that point on, but they insisted they were just friends. In 2021, however, they were spotted looking affectionate in Los Angeles and later became a public couple.
Rumors of marriage gained even more traction earlier this year. Zendaya was seen wearing a diamond ring at several official events, and local media reported that the two were already engaged. Even so, neither side has made any formal comment.
Ironically, the fake AI-generated wedding photos ended up fueling even more curiosity about their real relationship. Zendaya had explained at the time that the images were manipulated, but she did not address whether they were actually married.
Of course, Tom Holland did not directly say, “We are married.” Still, his brief comment that “my whole family was there” has led many to interpret it as a hint that a real wedding may have taken place, adding weight to the long-running secret marriage rumors.
