For as long as there’s been news, print and digital media, and word of mouth, there’s been coverage on celebrity scandals. These “scandals” can range from celebrities just acting like normal people but getting put on blast because of their fame to actual bouts of questionable behavior.

Perhaps the first real celebrity scandal you remember was Janet Jackson’s Super Bowl halftime show “wardrobe malfunction,” when Justin Timberlake ripped her top and briefly exposed her breast. It always rubbed you the wrong way that Janet took so much heat for the incident when she was definitely not to blame.

Maybe Winona Ryder’s shoplifting incident has lived rent-free in your mind since the early 2000s. It’s the first real gossip-y celebrity scandal story you remember reading about as a teen.

Or, perhaps you vividly remember when Tiger Woods was exposed for cheating on his wife. The news was absolutely everywhere, and this scandal quickly became the talk of the town. You also remember being oddly upset by the whole thing, as if you personally knew anyone involved.
