In the midst of change, one thing is certain: best friends will always talk about each other. And that extends to celebrities. No, I’m not talking about Paul Mescal and Daisy Edgar-Jones (even though Paul is literally always looking for a reason to talk about Daisy). I’m talking about Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell. After their viral press tour for Anyone But You in 2023, everyone was convinced something was going on between these two — despite the fact Sydney shut down the rumors more than once. Well, the Christy actress just opened up about the rumors again.

Did Sydney Sweeney have a relationship with Glen Powell?
Throughout the filming and promotion of Anyone But You, it was clear that Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney were close. And everyone immediately assumed the connection was romantic — despite the fact they were both in relationships at the time. (Both Glen’s relationship with Gigi Paris and Sydney’s with Jonathan Davino have since ended).
“Honestly, the press did it themselves. There was no leaning in, per se,” Sydney told Variety of the dating rumors. “Truly the tabloids and journalists just created it and kept going. Even if we were just standing next to each other, it was ‘They’re standing two inches apart!’ Glen and I genuinely care for each other and have a love and respect for one another. I love being with him. And I think people just truly saw a really beautiful pairing.”
I have to agree that I do love seeing these two onscreen together, and I miss the days when Hollywood would put the same two actors in multiple projects to capitalize on their connection (without churning out a dozen sequels!). And Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell would love to work together again.
“We are always open to it,” she continues. “I think that when the right concept and script come to Glen and I, we will jump in hand in hand.”
