The sporty pair tied the knot on Jan. 1, 2022, at the oceanfront St. Regis Bal Harbour Resort in Miami Beach, Fla., People reported at the time.

Stephens, 32, and Altidore, 36, announced their engagement in April 2019, but they have known each other since they were middle schoolers at Boca Prep in Florida.

When they got engaged in 2019, the US Olympic Committee congratulated the couple, who are also both Olympians.

Stephens has been making a tennis comeback after being derailed in 2025 by injury. (She kept busy as a successful broadcaster for ESPN and TNT.) In January, she played in the Australian Open, but suffered a first-round defeat.

In a lengthy statement, she wrote, “Jozy and I have decided to end our marriage. With peace, I am navigating this transition with mutual respect and kindly ask for privacy during this time. Thank you for your love, understanding and continued support.”
