Sharon Stone used her acceptance speech at an awards show to clap back at some ignorant kids who claimed she took their seat.

The drama took place at the Astra Awards on Jan. 9, where the Basic Instinct star was set to receive the Timeless Award, an honour for her career achievement, with the Hollywood Creative Alliance noting how Stone’s work “has shaped generations of actors and audiences.”

But apparently not all generations are aware of the Oscar nominee’s work, which Stone learned the hard way after a group of rude young people failed to recognize her.
In a video shared online from the ceremony, the 67-year-old began her speech by blasting fellow attendees who were seated alongside her at a table inside the Sofitel Beverly Hills Hotel venue.
“And to the kids at my table who wondered, ‘Who the f— took that chair?’, now you know,” Stone led her acceptance speech.

She then explained to stunned audience members, “Yeah, someone came over and said, ‘Who are you and why are you sitting here?’”
The crowd gasped in the room as Stone declared taht she said, “F— you!”
The identities of those sitting at Stone’s table was not clear, and Stone did not name them during her speech.
Fighting the good fight
The Casino star went on to urge her tablemates to channel their fame for doing good work for the world.
“More importantly, and more to the point, I’d like to say welcome to you. And I’d like to say, this is an opportunity. Because I started my activism work when my fame kicked in. And I’d like to give you an opportunity to start your activism work now that your consciousness has kicked in,” Stone noted.
“Because fame – without awareness, success, without purpose – is pointless,” she added.
The Nobody 2 actress went on to recall how she used to go after roles she felt were meant for her, noting that she “wasn’t the first person they offered Basic Instinct to” in 1992.

But she was persistent and got a manager to get her the script, prepared for it, and then ensured she got an audition “because I wanted that part.”
Stone urged that “when you want something, as an artist, you should go and get it, because you know what’s meant for you, and you know where you can fit and where you can make a change with your art.”

Do better, young people
At the end of her nearly 10-minute speech, Stone addressed the kids’ dismissiveness toward her earlier.
“Carry home someone you’re proud of, and you, too, will be timeless, whether the people at your table know who you are or not.”
She added: “Here’s what I’m going to tell you: You know who I am now.”
