Selena Gomez Opens Up About Keeping Wedding to Benny Blanco Private

Selena Gomez is adamant about keeping certain parts of her life out of the spotlight. 

During an Oct. 21 appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the Only Murders in the Building actress, 33, revealed why she’s decided to keep most of her and Benny Blanco’s recent nuptials out of the public eye.

“I didn’t want anyone to get photos of my wedding unless it was from me, and I keep my life as private as I can,” she told host Jennifer Hudson.

Indeed, it wasn’t until three days after she and Blanco, 37, tied the knot that the “Calm Down” singer shared a first glimpse into their ultra-private wedding. In a carousel of photos shared to Instagram on Sept. 30, Gomez provided a closer look at the elegant ceremony, the dainty flowers, the heart-shaped wedding cake and the singer’s three Ralph Lauren wedding gowns.

One of the gowns, which Gomez has deemed her “favorite,” featured a lace halter neck and a heart embroidered with the couple’s initials. According to Ralph Lauren, the wedding date is also inscribed on the dress, which features 300 hand-shaped and applied lace flowers and crystal embellishments on a hand-painted corset.

Her second dress was a draped canopy gown in which she walked down the aisle with her new husband. And for the third, Gomez opted for a silk satin halter-neck gown with a low back and a small train.

For his part, the music producer shared various photographs from the California ceremony on Sept. 28, including a detailed look at his wife’s massive wedding veil, their dazzling wedding rings, and quick glimpses into their sweet romance. In the caption, he made a quirky reference to Gomez’s Disney Channel stardom, writing, “I married a real life Disney princess.”

On Oct. 6, Gomez shared a few more unseen photos from her wedding while congratulating her longtime friend Taylor Swift on her new album, The Life of a Showgirl. “In honor of SHOWGIRL .. blessed to have you by my side almost 20 years later gator,” she wrote in the caption. “I love you @taylorswift forever and always.”

A pair of photos showed the pair sharing a sweet hug underneath twinkling string lights and sipping on their drinks. In an accompanying video, Gomez can be seen getting ready in her tented suite while Swift, 35, sits beside her in a sparkly floral gown and her signature red lipstick.

“Are you even serious?” Swift asks in the clip as she holds her phone and zooms in on Gomez. “What? Look at her. Oh, my God! Oh, my God!”
