Riverside Luxury Cruises is set to expand its fleet in 2028 with a new ship offering more choice on the Rhine, Main and Danube rivers.
The luxury river cruise line’s 2028 programme features sailings from three to 23 nights, in addition to themed and expert-led cruises.
Riverside Mahler will join the fleet in May 2028 and increase the luxury operator’s sailings through the Main-Danube Canal, which connects the Rhine and Danube, from two in 2027 to 12 in 2028.
The new ship will be a sister ship to Riverside Debussy and Riverside Ravel, and also promises “flexibility to manage high and low-water situations”, including ship swaps when needed.
New itineraries for 2028 on the vessel include 10 Budapest to Regensburg sailings and 10 Regensburg to Budapest sailings, plus two Dutch Waterways itineraries and three Lower Danube departures.
Riverside Debussy will offer spring tulip sailings through the Netherlands and Belgium, in addition to Lower Danube cruises.
In early summer, Debussy will debut new nine and 10-night itineraries between Amsterdam and Basel including the Moselle River, and later on in the year will offer Christmas market sailings on the Rhine.
Riverside Mozart will continue to sail the Upper and Lower Danube for the 2028 season, while Riverside Ravel will operate itineraries on the Rhône and Saône rivers in France.
Jennifer Halboth, chief executive officer of Riverside Luxury Cruises Americas, said: “The 2028 season gives travellers more ways to experience Europe by river, with Riverside Mahler joining Mozart, Debussy and Ravel.
“The additional ship means we can offer more departures on some of our most popular itineraries, while new routes and expanded sailings on the Lower Danube and Dutch Waterways give guests even more choice.
“It’s a season that gives travellers more ways to experience Europe, whether they’re returning to a favourite destination or discovering somewhere new.”
