Marquise ‘Hollywood’ Brown, Eagles Agree to Contract amid A.J. Brown Trade Rumors

As the rumors about A.J. Brown’s future continue to swirl, free-agent wide receiver Marquise “Hollywood” Brown is headed to the Philadelphia Eagles

Per NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Brown agreed to a one-year deal with the Eagles worth up to $6.5 million.

The 5’9″, 180-pound Brown played 16 games for the Kansas City Chiefs last year, catching 49 passes for 587 yards and five touchdowns on 74 targets.

Brown took to social media on Tuesday night to say farewell to Kansas City:

Brown starred at Oklahoma before the Baltimore Ravens selected him with the 25th overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft. He played three seasons with the Ravens, capped by a career-best 2021 when he caught 91 passes for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.

However, Brown issued a trade request after the season. He was eventually shipped, along with a third-round draft pick, to the Arizona Cardinals for a first-rounder.

Injuries hampered Brown somewhat during his two years in the desert. He had 67 catches for 709 yards and three scores in 2022 (12 games) before following that up with a 51/574/4 line in 2023.

After the 2023 season, Brown entered free agency, and he signed a one-year deal with the Chiefs.

Unfortunately, Brown suffered a sternoclavicular joint dislocation during a preseason game against the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he missed the first 15 games of the regular season. He did appear in the Chiefs’ playoff run to an AFC title but had a tough postseason (five catches, 50 yards on 13 targets).

In 2025, Brown had the best catch rate of his career at 66.2 percent. He finished third on the team in catches, second in receiving yards and first in receiving touchdowns.

Brown has now moved onto the Eagles, which hopes he can find the spark showed at the end of his time with the Ravens.

Injuries certainly hampered Brown from 2022-2024, and he didn’t have the greatest production in 2025.

However, Brown’s capable of being a solid starting receiver and can certainly be that here.

Even if the Eagles decide to keep A.J. Brown, they still needed help at the No. 3 receiver spot where Darius Cooper had been penciled in. Hollywood Brown is an upgrade at that spot as Philadelphia looks to solidify its roster after a disappointing loss in the NFC wild card round to the San Francisco 49ers in January.
