Philstar.com lists down showbiz couples who have decided to part ways this year.

Actors Barbie Forteza and Jak Roberto have ended their relationship after seven years together.

Barbie confirmed the split in an Instagram post published days after the New Year on January 2, with pictures of them together.

The actress began the post’s caption with a quote by Dr. Seuss: “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.”

“Having you in my life was the happiest I had ever been. Seven wonderful years. A lot of laughs, a lot of ramen and so much love,” Barbie continued. “Your love was exceptional. But sometimes, good things fall apart so better things can come together.”

Barbie has been linked to her “Kontrabida Academy” co-star Jameson Blake, with whom she has been seen enjoying several fun runs.

Actor Sam Milby finally confirmed that he and Catriona Gray have broken up last February.

In his interview with ABS-CBN News, Sam was asked directly if they are still together. Rumors of their alleged breakup have persisted for almost a year.

“No,” Sam answered.

“Kami ni Cat, we’ve always been private about our relationship. We share certain things nu’ng na-engaged kami, but in terms of the details, and buhay namin, we haven’t really shared,” he added.

Sam and Catriona admitted their relationship in 2020, and even got engaged in 2023.

Actress Kyline Alcantara confirmed that she and basketball player Kobe Paras were no longer in a relationship in her interview with Boy Abunda last July.

She expressed her appreciation for Kobe in the interview.

“Queen of All Media” Kris Aquino revealed that she and her doctor Mike Padlan broke up last March.

Kris said in an Instagram post that Mike didn’t love her.

“Enough time has passed: he did not love me. In my defense he did receive the correct professional fees even when we were a couple. End of that chapter. Never akong natakot umamin ng katotohanan,” she added.

Heaven Peralejo and Marco Gallo’s onscreen to real-life love story came to an end. Their tandem, MarVen, grew in popularity after starring in the live action adaptation of the romance novel “The Rain in España.”

“First, wala pong third party,” she added when asked by Boy about the story behind their breakup.

“‘Yung ‘Bakit?’ I think it’s better if you hear from him. That’s better. Pero honestly, before today, pinag-iisipan kong mabuti kung magsa-sabi na ako sa public. Kung hindi, mahirap ‘to for me,” the actress said.

“Gusto ko rin naman unahin ‘yung sarili ko this time, piliin ‘yung sarili ko this time. And na-realize namin na hindi na kami nakakatulong sa isa’t isa. Parang pinu-pull down na lang namin yung isa’t isa. Parang umabot kami sa ganoong point,” she added.

Jake Cuenca said there was no breakup but that chapter of his life is “over now” a week after Chie Filomeno asked for privacy amid split rumors between them last October.

He was asked how his heart was in a press conference, and Jake replied that he was good and doing great.

“I’m good, at least. It’s a lot to take, ‘di ba? Ang daming nangyayari, ang daming sinasabi ng mga tao.”

“But siguro I can officially say that that chapter of my life is over now. To be quite honest with you, parang, I can at least say that I really love that person deeply, and for me, I respect that person until today.”

Ellen answered questions from her followers, as well as posted screenshots of alleged messages between Derek and the unnamed woman. The outspoken actress said that she had only come to know of Derek’s alleged cheating last November, which she said happened in the early days of their relationship.

“Yeah, so ‘di ba that was nine days [or] 10 days into the relationship. Yes, we were not married at that time yet but if he was able to do that in our honeymoon stage, how much more three months, six months, a year? God knows, right?” she shared.
