Buchanan’s quiet Main Street was filled with a crowd after a reported sighting of Johnny Depp on Tuesday night.

Reports of the well-known Hollywood star visiting “The Best Place Antiques” quickly made their way through town, sending a quiet street into a frenzy.

Crowds swarmed around the antique shop, many hoping for a selfie with the star.

One fan said that she didn’t believe the rumors at first, but when she heard them over and over, she had to see it for herself.

“We got in the car, zoomed up here, parked just down the street, walked up here, and sure enough, there he was. You know, looked like him, sounded like him,” Alicia Ashe, a Buchanan resident, said.

Another fan said that he understands why Depp would choose that store.

“If it was him, which I believe it was, then this makes sense. An antique shop, he’s big into the jewelry these guys sell. He seems like he would be an antique guy,” one Depp fan, Bear Decarlo, said.

While many say they believe it was Depp, others are skeptical, wondering why he would visit the small town.

The store said the man in question is a longtime friend of a vendor and that the mystery man prefers to go by “JD.”

ABC13 reached out to her by text, and she said quote, “I had assured JD there weren’t many people in Buchanan and that we could slip in and out without drawing any attention.”

She also wouldn’t confirm his identity, just that it was a wonderful evening for everyone.

So was it really Johnny Depp? Or just a very convincing lookalike?

For now, Buchanan is left with a mystery.
