George Takei needed his husband Brad Takei’s help to walk during a rare public sighting in Los Angeles last Thursday.

The “Star Trek” actor, 88, was seen using a cane and tightly grabbing onto his longtime partner’s hand in photos obtained by Page Six.

George wore a navy blue puffer jacket over a white zip-up sweatshirt and gray sweatpants for the outdoor stroll.

Brad, 72, dressed more formally, opting for a beige blazer and a purple button-down shirt that he tucked into a pair of blue pants.

George got married to the former financial journalist (whose birth name is Brad Altman) in 2008, though they’ve been together since 1985.

In 2024, George revealed the secret to the couple’s successful marriage.

“He keeps me laughing and he keeps me getting angry. I think it’s sharing these emotions,” the actor told People.

George also said that the pair are “opposites,” noting that Altman is “a strict disciplinarian.”

“Brad is detail-oriented, he’s organized and he brings that detail and organization to my life so that I can do what I do,” the “Heroes” alum shared.

Although George was with Brad for nearly two decades at the time, he didn’t come out as gay until 2005 — a decision he opened up about last year during an interview with USA Today.

“It feels very liberating,” George stated. “I don’t have to be on my guard, kind of mentally fencing and saying what I want to say but without giving myself away.”

He added, “I developed that skill, but now I don’t need to. I can be candid and forthright.”

George also admitted that he felt like he couldn’t be his “whole self” before he came out.

“Here I am protecting my job, my career, what I want to do, while others who had the same difference that I did were sacrificing all that and actively engaging with the larger society and making progress,” he told the outlet.

Brad, for his part, has consistently supported George and his career throughout their relationship.

In fact, Brad legally changed his last name from Altman to Takei in 2013.

“I argued with him on that,” George recalled to Access Hollywood at the time.

George said that while he suggested hyphenating their names, Brad told him, “I feel Takei.”
