The future of the celebrity version of The Traitors has been confirmed as Jonathan Ross reveals two of his close pals have already been approached to take part in series two
The future of The Celebrity version of The Traitors has been confirmed by current contestant Jonathan Ross as he opened up on his experience on the show and revealed he ‘didn’t actually enjoy it’.
So far in the new series, two episodes have aired where Jonathan Ross was chosen alongside Cat Burns and Alan Carr to be the first three Traitors. They were then tasked to kill someone in plain sight, and poor Paloma Faith was chosen as their target and became the first Celebrity ‘murdered’.
In Jonathan’s latest podcast which he hosts with his daughter, Real Talk with Honey and Johnathan Ross, he opened up about his experience and also revealed that this will not be the only celebrity version of the show. Jonathan revealed: “I know they are already planning a second celebrity version. I know because I have had two celebrity friends of mine call me and said ‘Ive been approached, what do you think about it? Is it good to do? Is it bad to do?”

He added: “So I’m giving them the benefit of my experience, which actually, no, I didn’t actually enjoy it.”
Jonathan then went into detail on how much he struggled to be a traitor and was constantly lying to his castmates. He explained how the lying made him ‘increasingly uncomfortable’.
Jonathan said: “We were lying all the time, because you’re sharing a car with people in the morning and even though we were not meant to be talking about the game, sometimes people do, and so you’re lying. You’re on guard. Imagine you’re trying to guard a big secret, which is not just a secret you have but a secret you have that the others know someone has, and they are trying to get it out of you. So you’re on the defence all the time.”
Jonathan went on to say it was ‘fun’ to see it finally air, as the show is pre-recorded, but that they didn’t show ‘so much’ and suggested the producers should release a ‘director’s cut’ due to all the funny things Alan Carr did and said during the first two episodes, which weren’t aired.
This season of The Traitors includes a list of other big names, including Stephen Fry, Clare Balding, Tom Daley and Celia Imrie, and of course Claudia Winkleman is back to keep them all in check.
After the first celebrity departure, Paloma made it no secret that she was disappointed she left the show. She revealed on The One Show for her first live interview after the brutal murder that her daughter told her that Alan is ‘banned’ from their house.
Speaking about her four-year-old daughter, Paloma said: “This morning, she woke up, shook me and said, ‘Mama, I don’t like Alan anymore. He can’t come to our house. You can’t invite him to our house again,'” she laughed.
The Celebrity Traitors airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
