Homes with A-list celebrity connections or owners sell faster than their pedestrian counterparts, a leading prime estate agency has revealed.
Although many agents have in the past poured cold water on the idea that the current or former homes of well-known people are any less or more attractive to buyers, the research by Beauchamp Estates points to this assumption being statistically incorrect.
The firm looked at the sales of homes with connections to famous people and benchmarked their sales performance against the rest of its stock.
This found that a London home owned, or previously owned, by an A-list celebrity typically took just four to six months to sell, compared to 12-14 months for a ‘standard’ sales listing. The research covered listings sold during the past two years. Celebrity names linked to the sales include Mick Jagger, Tim Burton and Rihanna.

One reason for this difference is that celebrity homes for sale, or those that used to belong to stars, garner a lot more attention on social but also traditional media than other and consequently are easier to market although this doesn’t explain why they sell faster.
Beauchamp suggests this could be because the publicity means a wider pool of rich potential buyers get to see the home, and make an offer not because it used to or does belong to a celeb but rather it’s the kind of home they want and the publicity flagged it up.
And, sell faster they do. For example, in March 2025, the former London apartment belonging to the late Fleetwood Mac star Christine McVie was listed for sale by Beauchamp Estates for £6.95 million.
After a blaze of publicity, the penthouse listing on the Beauchamp Estates website received over 2,140 views in just a few weeks, a wave of enquiries and several offers, resulting in a successful sale in just three months.
