VESTAL, N.Y. (WBNG) — Binghamton University’s School of the Arts will host its inaugural Visiting Artist Series featuring MacArthur Genius Award winner Tony Cokes on Monday, Nov. 17 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
The event will be held in the Admissions Building, Room 189 on the Binghamton campus. The discussion is free and open to the public.
During his 40-year career, Cokes’ video and projection work has been shown at museums including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Whitney Museum and other institutions around the world.
The event will feature a discussion of his mixed media work and career, focusing on the topics his works address.
The recently established School of the Arts is looking to expand operations and continue growing while fueling creativity among students and the community.
Though this is the first session, the School of the Arts plans to continue these talks annually.
