While Charles sees the library renovations as a balance between tradition and practicality, Camilla sees it as “creating a cultural legacy.” But it seems only one of them is thinking about the cost. The project could cost taxpayers $500M, with Camilla’s requests tacking on extra costs. “The Queen feels the monarchy has a duty to promote learning,” the source explained, while Charles feels the costs may not be necessary.
