    The State Hermitage Museum

    The State Hermitage Museum in Saint Petersburg, Russia, was founded in 1764 by Empress Catherine the Great. It is one of the world’s most visited art museums, with 2.8 million visitors in 2022. Entrance is free on the third Thursday of each month, and it is closed on Mondays.
