Ferrari has a very strict policy about how its cars are portrayed in public by owners and prospective owners. To protect its image, it can even go to the extent of banning people from buying another one of its cars, regardless of the individual’s high-profile or celebrity status.

Affordability, then, is just one criterion among many to buy a Ferrari. Over the years, the Maranello-based brand has banned several elite customers, such as celebrities, car reviewers, and athletes. Names of some well-known figures are mentioned below:

    Justin Bieber

The famous pop artist Justin Bieber has reportedly been banned by Ferrari after taking his 458 Italia to West Coast Customs for modification. Ferrari prohibits modifications to its vehicles’ bodywork and paint, especially by unauthorized firms, to preserve the car’s integrity and branding.

    Floyd Mayweather Jr.

Ferrari requires new car owners to keep their purchases for at least one year. However, boxing champion Floyd Mayweather Jr. sold his Ferrari within a year of buying it. This led Ferrari to decide that he was no longer welcome at its dealerships. His reported ban is not just limited to one model, but to several Ferraris.

    50 Cent

Hip-hop star 50 Cent reportedly washed his Ferrari with champagne on video, which upset the management at thw brand, leading to his ban.

    Paris Hilton

American media personality Paris Hilton was allegedly banned from owning a Ferrari after the brand was not happy about the places she took her cars. In addition, some reports on social media state she violated the company’s image and customization policies by customizing a Ferrari with a pink paint job.

    Kim Kardashian

Kim Kardashian was reportedly banned by Ferrari in 2013 after she modified her 458 Italia. On top of this, some reports suggest she was not looking after her Ferraris well, which led to her being blacklisted.

    Chris Harris

Automotive journalist Chris Harris has reportedly been banned by Ferrari for writing articles that Ferrari did not like. Harris reportedly wrote that Ferrari offered better cars to journalists for testing than the customer vehicles sold by dealerships.

    Nicolas Cage

Nicolas Cage, another high-profile personality, reportedly sold his Ferrari Enzo below market value during a financial crisis, which hurt Ferrari’s exclusivity factor, leading to his ban.

    Tyga

American rapper Tyga failed to pay the lease on multiple Ferraris, damaging dealer trust, which reportedly led Ferrari to ban him from owning new models.

    Deadmau5

DJ Deadmau5 wrapped his 458 Spider in bright blue with cartoon graphics, calling it “Purrari,” which became a meme. Of course, this went against Ferrari’s policies, prompting the brand to reportedly ban the DJ.
