A new report recently came out that the Australian actress is reportedly feeling “suffocated” by her comedian wife since their move abroad, and that she’s allegedly getting ready to move on and get some space. This didn’t come long after other reports came out that they were selling their first English countryside home after claims that they were getting into rifts with their neighbors, although Ellen brushed it off. New Inside Sources Claim Portia de Rossi Feels ‘Suffocated’ By Ellen DeGeneres
Last year, not long after the re-election of Donald Trump, the former talk show host and her wife of almost 20 years decided to put their California home up for sale and make a drastic move abroad to the Cottswolds region of England. During rare interviews, Ellen hinted that the current president’s second election was the catalyst for making them want to start anew. In contrast, others were convinced it happened due to her show getting canceled and the decline of her positive reputation in the entertainment industry.
For a while, both Ellen and Portia stressed how happy they were since making the move and drastic lifestyle changes, posting funny videos as they began navigating countryside farm life, and getting out and about in London, attending concerts, and having dinner.
The only trouble seemed to start when insiders claimed the couple were getting into rifts with their neighbors due to them remodeling their home, but the comedian and others insisted those were just rumors. Now, there is a new issue reportedly going down, as not long after the couple put their original English home on sale, an inside source came forward to claim that Portia wasn’t very happy in their marriage anymore due to the Finding Nemo star’s treatment.
“Portia loves Ellen dearly, but she feels totally suffocated much of the time, because every aspect of her life is constantly micromanaged,” a source told Radar Online.
Portia Reportedly Wants To ‘Break Out’ Of Her & Ellen’s Current Routine
A few weeks before this inside source came forward, an anonymous former employee of The Ellen DeGeneres Show told media outlets that the show’s host was not very kind to male employees while it was still on the air, and would get extra upset whenever men looked a little too friendly with or spoke to Portia for too long. Now, that claim isn’t seeming too far-fetched considering the latest insider update, which claimed Ellen was “extremely protective” of her wife, and “hates going anywhere” without her.
“Portia’s always on the hook to be by her side,” claimed the source. “Portia wants to break out and do her own thing, and she’s constantly suppressed.”
While it doesn’t look like there are any separation or divorce rumors going around, the source emphasized that the Arrested Development actress wants to switch up their routine, claiming “she can’t go on like this.”
“If Ellen doesn’t back off and listen, it may well just drive Portia out the door permanently,” they added.
