There are river cruise ships, and then there is the andBeyond Amazon Explorer – a spectacular ship in a league of its own, this luxury yacht turns voyages along the Peruvian Amazon river into unforgettable experiences.

An award-winning, luxury experiential travel company and tour operator, andBeyond has delighted tourists with bespoke safaris and immersive journeys across continents for many decades. Its portfolio includes lodges and camps from Africa to the Peruvian Amazon and the Indian Ocean. A couple of years ago, andBeyond added the first cruise ship to its portfolio, andBeyond Galapagos Explorer, built for luxury Galapagos Islands cruises.

This year, the luxury operator is getting ready to introduce its second yacht-inspired cruise ship, andBeyond Amazon Explorer. As the name suggests, this new ship will be dedicated exclusively to immersive, luxurious journeys along the Peruvian Amazon. The ship is 242 feet long (74 meters) and it combines the intimate experience of small ship cruising with the opulence and high standards of a private superyacht.

andBeyond Amazon Explorer will accommodate just 32 guests across 15 suites, some of the largest in the region, according to the brand, with spectacular floor-to-ceiling windows for an immersive experience. Built by SIMA shipyard, the ship will be powered by twin Caterpillar 600 HP engines, propelling it as 12 knots.

The beautiful interior design is intentionally reminiscent of the Amazonian landscape, featuring Shipibo-inspired patterns and rainforest-inspired textures and colors.

Luxury yacht-inspired amenities onboard include the River Reatreat, similar to a yacht beach club, with a large pool and comfortable seating, and a spacious sundeck with sun loungers and a second large pool. The ship’s main social hub is the Amazon-inspired Pisco Bar, and guests also have access to a curated collection of some of the finest wines around the world.

No luxury cruise ship would be complete without an elegant wellness area, and the Amazon Explorer offers both a luxury spa center and a fully-equipped gym. The dedicated Explorer Center is designed to host talks led by experts and naturalists, to map out personalized adventure trips on the river and to explore Amazon’s landscape and biodiversity in depth.

For a more relaxed, private experience, the media room invites guests to watch a curated selection of documentaries and classic movies, while surrounded by the stunning, expansive views of the Amazon.

Built specifically for the Amazon river, this new luxury ship is both an expedition vessel meant to provide a fully immersive experience of the Peruvian Amazon, and a superb luxury yacht for vacationing in style.

Right now, andBeyond is offering two itineraries onboard the new Amazon Explorer, one tailored to the low-water season and one tailored to the high-water season, each available as a three-, four-, or seven-night cruise. andBeyond Amazon Explorer will embark on its maiden voyage in December, this year.
