ONE year is a long time in celeb-ville and the romantic showbiz landscape is looking very different at the end of 2025 than it did back in January.
From the collapse of some of the longest-standing celebrity relationships to cheating rumours, revenge albums and dating app scandals, 2025 has seen it all.
While some celeb couples have tried to keep the reasons for their break-ups private, others have done some very dramatic public airing of dirty laundry.
Just days ago, The Sun revealed chart topper Olivia Rodrigo, famed for hits Drivers License and Good 4 U, has split from House of Guinness actor Louis Partridge.
The showbiz power couple called it quits just a few weeks ago after two years of dating, leaving fans and people who knew them “shocked”.
A source told us Olivia became “emotional when she was talking about” the break-up and broke down in tears while at Lily Allen’s A-lister-packed sexy Santa party at strip club Stringfellows.
They said: “It’s not been the easiest few weeks for them and they decided it’s better to be apart for now… it’s just been pretty rough. It’s really sad right now.”
Many were shocked by the “lovely couple” ending things – especially due to Louis being especially supportive of his beau’s career.
He had previously told “I can handle that”, when asked how he felt about being known as “Mr Olivia Rodrigo” by their fans.
They are just one of many surprising celebrity couple whose relationships have come to an end in 2025 – here we reveal some of the biggest.
Lily Allen & David Harbour
When singer Lily Allen married Stranger Things star David Harbour in an intimate Las Vegas ceremony officiated by an Elvis impersonator, followed by laid-back celebrations at In-N-Out burger, everyone thought unlucky in love Lily had finally found her happy ever after.
But the couple split in February this year amid shocking claims of Harbour’s cheating and that he was on the celebrity dating app Raya where they had originally met.
In true Lily form she turned her heartbreak into art, releasing a jaw-dropping revenge album with tell-all lyrics detailing the devastating nitty gritty of their crumbling relationship, confessions of an open marriage and affairs.
The lyrics to Lily’s album West End Girl must be a tough listen for Harbour – even though Lily says they are a blend of fact and fiction – as she questions if her ex is a sex addict and recounts finding a plethora of sex toys and condoms at his other apartment, which she dubs ‘Pussy Palace’.
One track ‘Madeleine’ is said to be about Harbour’s alleged affair with costume designer Natalie Tippett.
Horrified Tippett denied claims of a long-term affair and said she felt ‘extremely violated’ by the way she has been portrayed by 40-year-old Lily.
“I did not have a three year affair with anyone,’ she posted online.
“I’m unsure why this person wants so badly to pit people against me or create this narrative that we both know is false based on the actual messages that I have saved between us.
“The same ones that have now been referenced in a song without my consent.
“I don’t weaponize women against women for the behaviour of men, especially not in an open relationship. I’m wishing her all the success, money, healing and happiness and whatever else she’s seeking through this.”
Harbour maintained his silence until asked in an interview if there was anything he would change about his life.
“You either accept your path completely and realise that even the pain and the slip-ups and the mistakes are all part of the journey, and that there’s truth and growth, wisdom and deeper empathy and connection in all that,” he said.
He then described his life as “like a house of cards.” He said that the “minute you try to change one thing, you kind of have to change it all.”
No matter what the truth is, the album has got the world talking and propelled Lily back to the top of the charts.
JoJo Siwa and Kath Ebbs
When Dance Moms star JoJo Siwa entered the Celebrity Big Brother house she was all loved-up with Australian content creator Kath Ebbs.
But in the shock twist that absolutely no-one had on their bingo card for 2025, JoJo and former Love Island star Chris Hughes began to grow close inside the house.
As the Big Brother cameras rolled 24/7 fans were on the edge of their seats, watching live as sparks flew between the pair.
JoJo came third on the show – but furious Kath refused to greet her publicly when she left the house.
And then the 22-year-old dumped Kath at the show’s wrap party. Kath later took to social media to detail their “humiliation” at the split.
Kath wrote: “Before I could even get back to the hotel I went to the afterparty with my, I guess now ex, crazy thing to say, and was dumped at the party.
“I was told that there are ‘confused feelings there’, take from that what you will, and that they had realised in the house that I wasn’t the person that they wanted to spend the foreseeable.”
But JoJo and 32-year-old Chris’s surprise romance has gone from strength to strength as they are about to spend their first Christmas together.
Meanwhile Kath too has moved on, announcing their engagement with new love Tilly Lucas-Rodd.
Tasha Ghouri and Andrew le Page
From rumours of the Strictly curse to secret dating app accusations there has been a lot of speculation about why one of Love Island’s favourite couples split.
The pair announced their break-up after two-and-a-half years together in February – just months after Tasha’s Strictly Come Dancing appearance and while she was taking part in the Strictly tour.
They both posted about the split on Instagram – but failed to give fans a reason.
But in January it had been alleged that Tasha, 27, was on the celeb dating app Raya – although she didn’t comment at the time.
However in May Tasha appeared on Spooning with Mark Wogan where she admitted to being on the dating app and acknowledged she shouldn’t have done it.
When asked by Wogan about her time on the app, Tasha said: “I’ve already owned up to it, so yeah,” and revealed she had quickly deleted the app after it was revealed Andrew had no idea she was moving on.
She later appeared on Rylan Clark’s podcast where she blamed ‘laziness’ for the end of the relationship.
Tasha has since gone public with her new love, TV presenter Cam Whitnall.
While Andrew, 30, has moved to Dubai for a fresh start and has been spotted on dates with Irish influencer Simone Grace and Dubai-based brunette Millie Cleland.
Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban
The Hollywood A-lister and country singer appeared to have one of the strongest relationships in showbiz – until their shock split after 18 years of marriage.
Nicole was reportedly ‘blindsided’ by Keith’s decision to walk away from their marriage amid claims from friends that she had been trying to salvage their union.
While fans were shocked when they announced their separation in September, friends of the couple – who share daughters Sunday Rose, 17, and 14-year-old Faith Margaret – say the split was years in the making.
Just months after their 2006 Sydney wedding, Urban, 58, entered rehab for alcohol and cocaine addiction. He later said it nearly destroyed their marriage, telling Rolling Stone he “caused the implosion”.
But Kidman’s career has gone from strength to strength.
Since 2007, she has filmed nearly 40 movies and 10 television projects, including Big Little Lies and The Perfect Couple.
Most recently, she rented a mansion in London while working on the Practical Magic sequel, spending long stretches away from home.
Fans may have thought they were the perfect couple, but apparently long periods of separation and diverging paths culminated in the breakdown.
Oscar winner Nicole, 58, filed for divorce on 30 September citing irreconcilable differences.
Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry
The actor and the popstar were engaged for six years until they announced their shock split this summer.
Katy, 40, and Orlando also share daughter Daisy Dove, five, and issued a joint statement saying they “have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on co-parenting”.
It added: ”They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is – and always will be – raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
But in her first new single since splitting from Orlando, 48, in June, Katy focused on themes of lost love and quiet disappointment – perhaps giving the first insight into the truth behind the break-up.
The music video for the song, Bandaids, opened with Perry washing dishes – until she accidentally drops what appears to be a wedding ring down the drain.
As she plunges her hand into the sink, she sings: “Hand to God I promise I tried / There’s no stone left unturned / It’s not what you did, it’s what you didn’t / You were there, but you weren’t.”
And Katy moved on pretty quickly as she is now dating former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, hard-launching the new romance with loved-up snaps on her Instagram.
While Orlando has also been spotted on a series of London dates with a mystery brunette, it follows a string of wild nights out.
Prior to the cosy meet-ups, he was seen air-kissing the Kardashians and partying with nepo babies half his age at Oasis’s concert, leading some to dub him the ‘world’s worst’ and ‘most embarrassing ex’.
Cat Deeley and Patrick Kielty
This Morning host Cat Deeley and comedian Patrick Kielty shocked fans when they announced the end of their 12 year marriage in July.
The couple, who share two sons, released a brief statement saying: “We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.
“We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected. There will be no further comment.”
But Patrick’s family were said to be seething over Cat’s failure to attend his beloved mother’s funeral in March – and say they knew at that moment their marriage was over for good.
Clearly still upset at the anger and embarrassment it caused the family, one relative told the Daily Mail: “Whatever rockiness was going on in the marriage, something as momentous as his mother’s funeral, you would make up even temporarily and just put your ‘best face’ on as we say in Northern Ireland.”
It was reported that Cat stayed home in order to support their two young children, Milo, nine, and James, seven, who were suffering the loss of their grandmother.
Patrick, 54, looked bereft as he carried Mary’s coffin through his home village, where he was joined by close family and friends at the Church of the Sacred Heart.
The Late Late Show host is now believed to be spending most of his time at his home in Northern Ireland which he is said to refer to as his ‘divorce house’.
Meanwhile Cat has remained in the family home in London.
Richard and Mindy Hammond
Former Top Gear star Richard Hammond and journalist Mindy had been married for a solid 28 years when they revealed their split.
In January, the former couple wrote on X: “A little update from us; this Christmas we were together as a family and this year we will still be a family but just structured a bit differently.
“Our marriage is coming to end, but we’ve had an amazing 28 years together and two incredible daughters.
“We will always be in each other’s lives and are proud of the family we created.
“We won’t be commenting further and sincerely hope that our privacy and that of our children will be respected at this time. With Love, Richard and Mindy.”
The couple have two daughters, Izzy and Willow.
Hammond was supported by his wife in 2006 following a high-speed crash on Top Gear which left him with serious injuries.
Insiders speculated that it was Mindy, 60, who decided to call time on their marriage earlier this year.
Richard, 55, has moved out of the family home and into rented accommodation.
