U.S. News & World Report’s 2026 Best Cruise Lines rankings offer a guide for travelers featuring the top selections in a total of 10 categories, among them cruise lines that cater to families, best for dining, choices for solo travelers, luxury options and those for wellness.

According to the magazine, this is the 12th installment of the rankings, which has expanded to highlight 19 of the most popular ocean cruise lines.

Nicola Wood, senior travel editor at U.S. News stated in a news release: “U.S. News Travel’s offerings are continuously evolving to meet consumers where they are as they consider new destinations, adventures and experiences. The 2026 Best Cruise Lines rankings recognize the top cruise lines in a variety of categories, allowing travelers to compare features, amenities and itineraries across multiple lines. Now, four brand-new ranking lists give even more comprehensive choices for cruisers to create their ideal experiences at sea.”

The Orlando Sentinel reports that the methodology for the ranking includes assessment of the quality of the cruise line, overall traveler ratings, high health assessment results and the type of traveler.

It went on to report that ship scores are decided on expert ratings that carries: 30% weight, a traveler rating with 50% weight and a health rating with 20% weight.

The rankings include the top three in each category:
