Jessica Simpsons is in her cougar era since separating from her estranged husband, Eric Johnson.
“I think I’m into younger men at the moment,” she admitted to Extra at the “All’s Fair” premiere in Los Angeles Thursday.
“When you’re newly separated… I feel like younger guys kinda like the confidence of an older women, I’m discovering,” she explained. “I am having fun!”
The singer, 45, stunned in a sleek black latex dress by Vex, featuring a high slit and a plunging neckline, though she playfully dished to the outlet that she usually likes to “keep latex for the bedroom.”
She also teased that in the upcoming Hulu series, viewers will see a “hot and steamy” side of her through her “naughty” character that she also likes to save for the boudoir.
Simpson shared that making out with her 76-year-old co-star, Rick Springfield, “wasn’t terrible” but definitely cemented her interest in younger men now that that she’s newly single.
The actress’ dating confession comes just weeks after she was spotted with Johnson, 46, at her sister’s Las Vegas concert, which sparked reconciliation rumors.
A video shared by TMZ showed the estranged couple — who wed in 2014 — attempting to lay low while attending the opening show of Ashlee Simpson’s Vegas residency at Voltaire night club inside the Venetian hotel on August 29.
Although they didn’t appear to engage in any PDA during the outing, they had also just been spotted boarding a flight out of Burbank, Calif., to Vegas together, adding fuel to the rumors.
The former couple, who share three children together, announced their separation in January 2025 after 10 years of marriage.
“Eric and I have been living separately navigating a painful situation in our marriage,” Simpson told People in a statement at the time.
“Our children come first, and we are focusing on what is best for them. We are grateful for all of the love and support that has been coming our way, and appreciate privacy right now as we work through this as a family.”
Eagle-eyed fans already speculated she and Johnson were experiencing marital problems when they noticed that Simpson hadn’t posted photos with her spouse since 2023.
Since going public with the split, Simpson opened up about “loving people through their mistakes” and hinted that the divorce was “unexpected.”
“I choose love because if I chose to be resentful or if I chose to let the pain of it overwhelm me, I would fail,” Simpson told Parade of her breakup in an interview published in August.
“If I’m going to love through my mistakes, I have to love others through their mistakes.”
She also revealed how the end of her marriage inspired the making of her album, “Nashville Canyon, Pt. 2.”
“When I was in Nashville and recording, I was going through a really hard time, an unexpected change of life. I don’t think I’ve ever been so confused. But I didn’t let the confusion, the heartbreak, the negativity of that hold me back,” Simpson shared.
A source close to the fashion designer exclusively detailed how the divorce played a huge role in the country-inspired project which was her first album in 15 years.
“Jessica has been working on new music for a while, but with everything going on now, she feels it’s the perfect time to go full force with it,” a source tells us exclusively.
“She’s always journaling, and a few entries have evolved into songs about heartbreak and resilience. It’s been a very creative, albeit heartbreaking, time for her.”
