Recent reports about Shelton and Stefani’s relationship describe a troubled marriage.
“Gwen and Blake have been spending an awful lot of time apart lately,” a source told Star Magazine. “It’s become a talking point amongst friends and fans that they’re living separate lives. A lot of people think the magic’s started to wear off.”
The source claimed that people close to the couple have wondered if they could end up as “another Hollywood divorce casualty.”

On Shelton’s latest album, For Recreational Use Only, he duets with Stefani on the song “Hangin’ On.”
“We live together, so we walk around the house singing these songs all the time, and we have months to talk about, ‘Hey, maybe you jump on that part,’” he told People. “By the time we get to the studio, we’re normally really prepared.”
“Hangin’ On” is a breakup song, which has raised some eyebrows amid reports of alleged marital strife.
“I let go of any chance that you were comin’ back / Like I supposed to / I let go of anything with any strings attached / Like I had to,” he sings in the opening verse.
He said that while Stefani sings the song with him, the lyrics have nothing to do with their actual relationship.
“It’s really no reflection of where Gwen and I are in our relationship,” he told Access Hollywood before adding, “I hope.”
It seems that the couple is still in a good place. In discussions about “Hangin’ On,” Shelton said his decade-long relationship “still feels new for me.”
“I feel like that might be the key to happiness, is that it feels just as exciting and new and happy,” he said.
Stefani spoke about constantly seeing divorce rumors
This is not the first time people have wondered if Shelton and Stefani are headed for divorce. For several years, reports have claimed that the couple is growing distant. Stefani said she ignores the rumors.
“But when you’re in love and have truly aligned values, nobody can get to us,” she told Nylon. “You can say whatever you want to say about our relationship — I mean, a week ago, we were getting divorced again or something. It’s just lies. The truth is the truth, and we know what that is. And so that [negativity] would never penetrate just by me being vulnerable and sharing a song that I didn’t write for anybody else but myself and Blake.”
Shelton and Stefani celebrated their fourth wedding anniversary in July.
