Fast forward to the Love Is Blind Season 9 reunion, where Joe revealed that he and a woman named Averee were now dating. The relationship came after Joe’s short-lived romance with Kacie McIntosh, a 34-year-old hair and makeup artist who was previously engaged to Patrick Suzuki, a 31-year-old construction manager on Love Is Blind Season 9.

“[It was] a month and a half,” Joe said. “I think it just kind of fizzled out. It just ultimately didn’t work out.” Kacie added that she and Joe split because they both weren’t “ready” to date so soon after their engagements. “It got too intense too quick,” she said, adding that the two did have a connection in The Pods that wasn’t shown.
Madison, for her part, claimed during the reunion that she was aware of Joe and Kacie’s connection and that it “affected [her] engagement.” “The night of wedding dress and tux fittings, we had all gone out. I’m standing there with a wedding ring on, telling your groomsman how much I love you,” she said. “I look over, Kacie has two paws on Joe’s chest. In your words that night, you said, ‘Kacie was giving me googly eyes.’ Then, the next night, we break up.” Madison added, “Let’s just tell the truth here. It seems like there was overlap.”
Joe and Kacie, however, denied that they exhibited any inappropriate behavior while Joe and Madison were still together. “I don’t think that’s the case at all,” Joe said. “If that’s why you think you broke up, that is not the case. That has nothing to do with our story. That was after, and that was never in my mind when I broke it off.” Kacie, for her part, claimed that she and Joe didn’t start speaking again “until the end of May,” weeks after his breakup with Madison.
“I found out right before Mike [Brockway’s] pool party,” Madison claimed. “At the pool party, I saw Kacie, and she had the audacity to tell me that we are Eskimo sisters. Class act, and then you continued to bitch to me about how he treated you, completely disregarding the fact that this was my ex-fiancé.”
Joe on Love Is Blind Season 9
During the reunion, Joe revealed that he brought his current girlfriend, Averee, to the party, though they weren’t officially dating at the time. “We were not dating at the time,” Joe said of his connection with Averee. “Don’t get me in trouble at home. No, [and] my relationship now was rocky for the first three months, and she didn’t want to date me. There was a lot of breaking up, coming back together, breaking up, and we were off [in] October as well, then we got back together and started dating in November.”
So are Joe and Averee still together? Averee confirmed in an interview on the “Reality Receipts” podcast on October 19 that she and Joe were still together while clarifying the timeline of their relationship.
During the interview, Averee revealed that she works in family law has “nine to five” but also has a career as a dating coach for men on the side. She also runs her own women’s social club, The Group Chat Denver.
As for how they met, Averee and Joe were first introduced to each other on June 11, 2024, at a birthday party through mutual friends, though they didn’t start dating until November of that same year. She also confirmed that Joe informed her that he had filmed Love Is Blind before they met and was still working through some emotions from the show.
Averee also told the podcast that she knew Joe’s Love Is Blind co-star, Kait Nemunaitis, well before they started dating. She also knew Madison through the same friend group. (She and Madison also follow each other on social media.) While she empathized with Madison on the podcast, she also defended Joe, claiming that he ended their engagement due to poor communication and not because of his physical attraction to her.
Averee also confirmed that Joe and Kacie’s romance was months before she and Joe became official, maintaining that there was no overlap. While she’s OK with Madison, Averee also confessed that she isn’t a fan of Kacie.
“I think she’s burnt a lot of bridges in our friend group,” Averee said. “Obviously, from what we see on TV, it translates into real life. At least for other people, I can say [that] who they are on TV and who they are in real life isn’t really the same … but for her, it fully translates into real life.”
She also alleged that, even after she and Joe became official, Kacie continued to reach out. “We met at a pool party last year, she’s like, ‘I just love you, I think you’re so cute, I think you and Joe are great, like, it’s no hard feelings to you,’” Averee said. “Then she’s still trying to hook up with my man while she knows he’s my man.”
As for why Averee wasn’t at the Love Is Blind Season 9 reunion, Averee confirmed that the producers wanted her there, but she felt like it wasn’t her place to attend. “Joe and I talked about it and we were like, ‘It’s not going to be helpful,’” she said. “If anything, it’s going to make him more nervous.”
