Amy Schumer addressed recent speculation about the status of her marriage to chef Chris Fischer.
Schumer, 44, and Fischer, 45, sparked split rumors last month, which only intensified on Sunday, November 30, when the comedian posted a selfie sans her wedding ring.
In a wide-ranging Instagram post on Monday, December 1, Schumer tackled questions around her marriage, and also clarified recent headlines about her weight loss.
“I never wear jewelry,” she wrote over video footage filmed by her son Gene, 6, who decided to record a house tour of the family’s home, with both of his parents visible in the clip.

Elsewhere, Schumer wrote, “Whatever ends up happening with Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism … fingers crossed we can make it through … he’s the best.”
On the lefthand side of the video, Schumer wrote, “Happy to share more if anyone has any questions about how I’m looking or feeling or when I am in my perimenopause process.”
Schumer also addressed her recent weight loss, saying she has lost 50 pounds in total. “Not to look hot, which does feel fun and temporary,” she wrote.
“I did it to survive I had a disease that makes your face extremely puffy that can kill you but the internet caught it and that disease has been cleared,” the Trainwreck star continued, apparently referring to Cushing syndrome, which she first revealed she was diagnosed with in February 2024. (Cushing is when the body produces too much of the hormone cortisol and can lead to puffiness, high blood pressure or bone loss, per the Mayo Clinic.)
“Sorry for whatever feeling it’s giving you that I lost that weight. I’ve had plastic surgery over the years and I use Mounjaro. Sorry to anyone [that] lets down. I’m pain free. I can [play] tag with my son,” she added.
Schumer previously opened up about her husband’s autism diagnosis in her 2019 comedy special, Growing.
“I knew from the beginning that my husband’s brain was a little different than mine,” she said. “My husband was diagnosed with what used to be called Asperger’s. He has autism spectrum disorder. He’s on the spectrum. And once he was diagnosed, it dawned on me how funny it was, because all of the characteristics that make it clear that he’s on the spectrum are all of the reasons that I fell madly in love with him.”

During an April 2022 appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Schumer said Fischer, whom she wed in February 2018, was “the best partner ever,” and said his autism diagnosis was akin to “getting a superpower.”
“People just don’t know much about autism,” she said. “They’re like, ‘Oh, does he love to count? Should we drop a bunch of straws on the floor and will he count them?’”
Schumer said that Fischer’s diagnosis gave “us so many helpful tools,” adding, “I think it’s a good thing for people to check it out and get tested so you don’t spend your whole life feeling like you’re bad or wrong… my favorite people are on the spectrum.”
