An Indiana estate owned by Motorsports Hall of Famer Michael Andretti—known to his fans as the “Black Knight”—has officially rumbled onto the market as he shifts into retirement. Nestled on the outskirts of Indianapolis in the suburban city of Fishers, the sprawling waterfront spread is listed for nearly $12 million with Joel Woelfle and Allen Williams of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices.
The former racing champ and IndyCar team owner and his model wife Jodi bought the 1990s property in late 2016 for nearly $2.2 million. They razed part of the existing home and rebuilt and expanded it over the next three years in collaboration with builder Rob Annee of the Palladium Group. Sited amid a gated parcel spanning over five acres, with 570 feet of shoreline along the manmade Geist Reservoir, the chateau-style residence has a total of nine bedrooms and 12 baths in roughly 21,000 square feet.
Three garages spanning 5,500 square feet can accommodate more than 12 vehicles.

In addition to the three-story main home, which features a dedicated guest suite, a detached carriage house with two 900-square-foot one-bedroom apartments was tacked on in 2023 by Dan Elliott Custom Homes. Primed for auto enthusiasts, a trio of climatized garages encompassing a whopping 5,500 square feet can accommodate more than a dozen vehicles.
A turreted entryway opens to reveal a cove-ceilinged living room anchored by a fireplace and large expanses of glass offering picturesque lake views. A fireside hearth room connects to a gourmet kitchen with a 14-foot island, an Italian Ilve range, grilling and wine stations, and a tucked-away caterer’s kitchen. A retractable 20-foot wall of glass in the space spills out to an expansive veranda with automated screens.

Other highlights include a glass-walled sitting room and a wood-paneled study sporting a stone fireplace, plus a posh upstairs primary retreat that comes with a two-way fireplace, reading and coffee nooks, dual walk-in closets, and a luxe bath with a gold glass-tiled barrel ceiling. A private 1,700-square-foot guest wing has two bedrooms with baths, a great room, a full kitchen, and direct garage access.
Four more bedrooms can be found on the lower level, which also features a 15-seat bar, a 700-bottle wine cellar, a movie theater, an arcade, and a fitness center. Doors open to the resort-style grounds, which are spotlighted by a 50-foot pool with a spa, waterfalls, a waterslide, and fire features, as well as multiple terraces, a heated and cooled children’s play cottage, and a three-slip boat dock. Architectural plans for a 4,400-square-foot sports building are also available.

Andretti, who amassed more than 40 wins during his career, belongs to a famed racing family that includes his father, legendary American open-wheel driver Mario Andretti, and his son, IndyCar Series driver Marco Andretti.
The couple recently relocated to a lavish waterfront mansion in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, they purchased from Nevada-based American Recovery Services founder Patrick K. Willis for $27 million.
