Actor Jake Foy and Nicolas La Traverse are officially newlyweds.
Ride and Sidelined: The QB and Me star Foy, 34, married producer La Traverse, 27, on Sept. 27 in La Traverse’s hometown of Montréal. The church wedding and Succession-inspired reception oozed coastal elegance at Le Bateau-Mouche at the Old Port of Montréal — without the family drama, of course!
“While we’re not fictional corporate billionaires, we did have guests coming from as far and wide as France and California,” the couple writes to PEOPLE. “So, we wanted to ensure they were treated to a luxury weekend experience.”

Attended by about 100 guests, each got to enjoy a five-course meal and open bar on the St. Lawrence River.
“It was perfectly cinematic and completely unforgettable,” the couple adds.
Both day and night were fashion-forward, with the wedding website encouraging attendees to “treat yourself to something vintage, wear that look your mom thinks is ‘over the top.'” A collage mood board provided outfit inspiration, and then some.

The ceremony was held at the Church of St. Andrew and St. Paul.
“A church was important to us,” the grooms say. “We wanted to honor the tradition of marriage in a sacred space. We’re profoundly grateful to have been married in a house of faith, in the historic Church of St. Andrew’s & St. Paul, a location that has also served as a film set dozens of times.”
Their close friend Jacob MacInnis gave emotional performances of “Thank God I Do” by Lauren Daigle for the processional and Stephen Schwartz‘s “When You Believe” while they signed the registry.
“We’re not exaggerating when we say there wasn’t a dry eye in the church,” they add.

The reception was full of nautical late-summer charm with “timeless” Hollywood details.
“When we found our reception venue on the river, we instantly fell in love with the marquee lights and the sunset atmosphere,” the couple explains.
Celebrating with the grooms were Foy’s Ride costars Beau Mirchoff, Tiera Skovbye, Sarah Garcia and Tyler Jacob Moore. (Foy has also appeared in several Hallmark Channel movies as well as The Chicken Sisters. He’s also known for his role in Designated Survivor, tubi’s Sidelined: The QB and Me, and Lifetime’s Eat, Pray, Lie.)

In a day honoring their love, the couple gave a sweet nod to its beginnings. The couple first met at “Table 11” at Terroni Adelaide in Toronto, where Foy was La Traverse’s waiter. Before La Traverse left the restaurant, Foy tapped him and handed him a crumpled receipt he said La Traverse had “dropped.”
The receipt, of course, had Foy’s name and number. To match Foy’s “boldness,” La Traverse brought him a rose on their first date, which became a wedding emblem.

La Traverse wore a black velvet bow tie by Italian designer Mani del Sud featuring a metal rose as a nod to the gesture. Meanwhile, Foy rocked a pair of “signature” yellow aviator sunglasses by Jacquemus.
Celebrity stylist Kristine Wilson put together the grooms’ ensembles, including Ralph Lauren coattails for Foy, a double-breasted Banana Republic jacket for La Traverse and dinner jackets by Boss and Banana Republic with vintage cufflinks & shirt studs. Their shoes were patent loafers by G.H. Bass & Boss.

The festivities aren’t over yet. The couple recently returned from a mini-moon at The Shelborne by Proper in Miami, and they are planning a European honeymoon for 2026.
“We’re thrilled to continue this journey as husbands, deepening our bond,” they tell PEOPLE. “We’re also proud to set a precedent for commitment within our community.”
“It’s exhilarating to have made it to this milestone side by side,” they add.
