Keanu Reeves’s Publicist Addresses Alexandra Grant Marriage Rumors

It appears Keanu Reeves, A.K.A. the internet’s favorite boyfriend, is still just that: the internet’s favorite boyfriend. Rumors have been swirling this month that the beloved actor secretly married his longtime girlfriend, Alexandra Grant. Reeves’s publicist finally addressed speculation.

Some outlets had reported last week that the John Wick star and visual artist discreetly tied the knot in an intimate wedding during a European getaway early this summer. But, alas, the news is false.

“It is not true,” Reeve’s publicist told E! News in a September 22 statement. “They are not married.”

The rumors came just a couple weeks after Grant posted an Instagram birthday tribute for the actor’s 61st trip around the sun. “Thank you to everyone for sending over sweet wishes for Keanu’s birthday yesterday… he was well-celebrated!” she penned under a photo of a heart-shaped birthday cake with lit candles and “Keanu X” written across the front. “And to Keanu—who saw this post as a draft!—I am so grateful for your love and partnership. Now back to painting! xo.”

Reeves and Grant’s relationship dates all the way back to 2011. They rode the collaborators to lovers pipeline, with Grant having illustrated Reeves’s “grown-up picture book” Ode to Happiness. They worked together again in 2016 when Grant did the photography for Reeves’s 2016 art book, Shadows. In 2017, they founded their own publishing company, X Artists’ Books.

While it’s unclear just when their connection became romantic, the pair went public with their coupling at the 2019 LACMA Art + Film Gala red carpet, where they held hands and smiled wide. This display was a departure from Reeves’s philosophy around fame, which usually sees him guarded and protective about his personal life.

The John Wick star has let some gushing slip over the years, however. When asked about his last moment of bliss in 2023, Reeves told People, “[a] couple of days ago with my honey. We were in bed. We were connected. We were smiling and laughing and giggling. Feeling great. It was just really nice to be together.”

They showed off their beautiful connection again at the June 2025 premiere of Ballerina. During their rare red carpet outing, the two shared a sweet kiss, exchanged loving glances, and held hands. Grant also sparked engagement rumors at the time, as she donned a sparkly diamond ring on that finger; however, neither party has publicly addressed whether they are engaged.
