An exhibit titled “My Mom Is My Dog’s Favorite Person” will be on view June 7-July 25 in the Charles Bloom Foundation Gallery at the Museum of Contemporary Art Santa Barbara main space, 653 Paseo Nuevo.
There will be an opening reception, noon-3 p.m. Sunday, June 7, and an artist talk, 5-7 p.m. Friday, July 17.
Hidalgo is a Filipina-American artist based out of California and Oahu, Hawai‘i where she was born and raised. She is a recipient of the 2025-26 Call for Entries exhibition prize.
Hidalgo recently received her MFA in Studio Art from the UC Santa Barbara in 2024. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in painting, and a Bachelor of Arts in psychology at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa in 2019.
Hidalgo attended the Lorenzo de’ Medici Institute in Florence, Italy, in 2015 and 2016;and is a graduate of Leilehua High School, a Hawai‘i public school.
