A popular family holiday resort on the Pembrokeshire coast has opened two new zipline experiences in time for summer.
Guests at Bluestone National Park will be able to visit the Steep Ravine outdoor activities area from Saturday, 23 May, after it was forced to close due to severe storm damage.
As part of the restoration, the park has introduced two new guided zipline experiences.
The largest, Summit Flight, will send guests racing across the Steep Ravine on a high-speed 279m zipline.
Meanwhile, the Double Glide features shorter zips designed to build confidence.
The sessions for both rides will run for approximately 45 to 60 minutes to include time for a briefing, equipment fitting and the zipline experience itself.
There is no age limit for the activity, but guests must adhere to the minimum (30kg) and maximum (120kg) weight requirements.
The ziplines will be open for guests staying up until 16 July, although more dates may be added.
Steep Ravine’s reopening will see the return of Camp Smokey, a rustic outdoor dining spot that serves lunches, barbeques, drinks and hosts marshmallow toasting around a fire.
Evening entertainment will also return with Smokey Joe’s Shindig, featuring family sing-alongs and live entertainment.
James McNamara, a director at Bluestone, said the reopening represents “a new chapter” for the Ravine.
“We know how special the Steep Ravine is to so many of our guests and closing it back in 2024 was not a decision we took lightly,” he said.
“The storm damage meant the area was no longer safe, so it was important that we took the time to restore the Ravine carefully and responsibly, working closely with specialists throughout the process.
“Every step has been taken with care for the landscape and its future, while making sure guests can once again enjoy everything that makes this place so special.”
Bluestone National Park Resort offers 400 accommodation units, including cottages, apartments and lodges and a wide range of activities beyond just Steep Ravine.
Guests can also take advantage of water parks, aerial adventures, spa experiences and nature trails.
