Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have reportedly nailed down the date of their wedding. According to Page Six, it’s July 3 in New York City, but at least one high-profile wedding planner thinks the urban location is all a lie.
New York Magazine‘s Curbed spoke with celebrity wedding planners about where they think the 36-year-old pop star and the 36-year-old NFL player are getting married, and one person is doubting the Manhattan location. David Stark, who has worked with Glenn Close and Brad Pitt, believes that privacy is the couple’s biggest concern.

Stark recommended Liberty Island for Kelce and Swift because as the home of the Statue of Liberty, it’s perfect for the singer who is “as American as apple pie” on the Fourth of July weekend. “We’d have a clear-top tent so you can see the statue, and in a perfect world, there’d be fireworks that you could see from the shore,” he suggested as if he were planning their wedding. “It’d be incredibly private because you get there by boat.”
Still, he told Curbed that he thinks the New York City location leak is all a ruse. “It could be anywhere in the world, and this is all just to throw everyone off the trail,” he said.
His comments have Swifties circling back to Us Weekly‘s April 1 report that their wedding was happening on June 13. A source claimed the ceremony and reception would be held at two different locations in Rhode Island: her Watch Hill estate and the five-star resort, Ocean House.
“The guest list grew, so the ceremony and private gatherings associated with the wedding [will be split between the venues],” the insider shared while warning that there are other venues as backups. “Taylor always has a plan B and C for every scenario.”
Now, it seems everyone has happily settled into the July 3 date, reported by Page Six, but not every wedding watcher is buying into the Manhattan location. With a little over two months until the dynamic duo walks down the aisle, Swifties better sharpen their sleuthing skills because Swift and Kelce might be getting married in NYC, Rhode Island… or somewhere else.
