The revamp is part of the OceaniaNEXT fleet upgrade programme (Oceania Cruises)
Oceania Cruises is revamping and renaming one of its older cruise ships to prepare it for world cruises from 2028.
The culinary-focused luxury brand has announced plans to refurbish Oceania Nautica and give it a new look and name.
Oceania Nautica has been part of the fleet since 2005 and was previously refurbished in 2022.
But it is returning to dry dock to be transformed into Oceania Aurelia by late 2027.
The revamp is part of the OceaniaNEXT fleet upgrade programme.
Once complete, Oceania Aurelia will welcome fewer than 500 guests – down from around 670 currently, served by 400 officers and crew.
Oceania Cruises said 179 of the cruise ship’s 238 cabins will be suites with dedicated butler service.
These will include remastered Owner’s, Vista and Penthouse Suites, plus new additions: Oceania Suites, Horizon Suites, Oceanview and Inside Suites.
Guests will find menus reflecting the regions being explored in beloved venues including The Grand Dining Room, Polo Grill, Toscana, Terrace Cafe, Waves Grill and the Pizzeria.
Passengers will be able to take part in mixology experiences at the new Founders Bar as well as cooking workshops in the new Chef’s Studio.
There will also be unlimited access to the Aquamar Spa Terrace for all guests.
Jason Montague, chief luxury officer of Oceania Cruises, said: “Oceania Aurelia is our ultimate world explorer.
“She is designed specifically for guests who desire greater space, more suites and a deeper level of personalised care, particularly for extended journeys. Oceania Aurelia will be a smaller, more club-like ship that truly feels like a home at sea, providing travellers a deeper connection to the ports they visit.”
