Bronwyn Newport is addressing her split from estranged husband Todd Bradley head-on.
A month after Page Six confirmed that Newport had separated from Bradley after nine years of marriage, the “Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star revealed their breaking point.
After filming for the currently airing sixth season wrapped in June 2025, Newport told People in an interview published Wednesday that she and Bradley spent a “quiet summer” at home together, mourning the death of her father.
“He was really there for me and my entire family throughout everything with my dad,” she explained. “Whatever we’d been struggling with while filming this season seemed to just not exist in the summer. We just really understood each other and were great.”
But watching the episodes as they aired was an “eye-opening” experience for the Bravolebrity, who could not deny the obvious tension between her and Bradley — who is 26 years her senior — as they navigated cheating rumors.
“It was almost like this magical summer hadn’t happened. We were kind of right back into some of those problems,” she said, noting that she was bothered by her own behavior, too.
“I didn’t like how needy I was, and I didn’t like how upset or defensive I was. It wasn’t a relationship that I felt like I wanted to be going forward with anymore.”
Newport shared that turning 40 in September also contributed to her decision to end her marriage, as it was her first without her dad. The milestone made her think back to “a very specific conversation” they had had 15 years prior.
That’s when she told Bradley she wanted to separate, after which they began the process “quietly” and “slowly.”
Newport knew she had made the right call after attending BravoCon solo in November, confessing that it was the “first time” she felt she was “going to be OK” without the tech exec by her side.
“It was just this pressure point of trying to explain this life that I was living to him when he was not there, and he wasn’t understanding it,” she recalled, acknowledging that Bradley “hates the show.”
While she admitted that being on reality TV “brought out a weird dynamic” in their relationship, she made it clear that “the cameras didn’t create [their] problems.”
Still, they captured the uncomfortable rapport between the then-couple, which then affected how Newport interacted with her co-stars.
She decided to “rip the Band-Aid off” and reveal the news to them while taping the Season 6 reunion in early December.
“The reunion was the next time I was going to see the women. I felt like since they had lived through some of the breakdown of what was going on, and they had maybe lived through a version of me that was more upset or more defensive or harder to get along with, that they deserved that information,” Newport explained, adding that she also wanted them to stop talking about Bradley.
Though Newport is “not happy” because the breakup is “not what [she] wanted,” she sees a “wonderful” future ahead for both her and Bradley.
“I really care about Todd. That’s not something that turns off overnight. I want the very best for him. I really do want to be best friends with Todd,” she said. “I think as we’ve gotten closer to that in the last few weeks, there’s a lot more of that old happiness and joy for both of us.”
Despite their split, Newport — who is mom to 20-year-old daughter Gwen from a previous relationship — disclosed that she and Bradley still live together.
“We might be the only people in the world who don’t have young children who are nesting, but we’re doing it for our dogs,” she shared.
